You were utterly alone in your room, drawing stuff and the what not, when you hear a thump on your bedroom door. You find this odd, as you were home alone, but cautiously you go up to your door anyways. You give a slight call out, to see who answers, but there is none. Shrugging it off, you head back to your desk, when you hear another slight thump, and a muffled call. Someone was certainly there, you know this now.
Moving to the door, you feel odd, nervous, as you turn the handle, swinging the door open. But oh to your surprise! It was Karkat standing at your door, the Karkat from the comic you loved, the character you loved. How could he be here? But you do not question this now, you see that he’s bleeding and is looking up at you pleadingly, and you step aside, letting him in.
He shuffles in quietly, unsure of what to do, and merely flops down on your bed, as if he knew you all along.
"Karkat…?" You call, unsure if he’ll respond or not. He seems distant, distressed. That was when you noticed he was holding back muffled sobs. Moving forward to him, you reach out a hand, but he violently slaps it away.
"She’s gone." He says simply, coldly, and you feel numb. Who was she? Reaching forward again, you lightly touch his shoulder, moving to sit next to him.
"Who?" You ask cautiously, and he turns to you, lower lip quivering, tears beginning to spill from his eyes.
"Terezi! Terezi’s gone! DEAD! I COULDN’T SAVE HER! I COULDN’T FUCKING SAVE HER!" His voice keeps rising and rising, the pale red tears spilling over his eyes now as the sobs rack through his body. You feel surprised, but allow him to hug you anyways. You stroke his back, saying soothing words, as he continues to sob, clutching at your shoulders.
"I COULDN’T SAVE HER! I couldn’t save her…"
